Diapers This depends on how often you want to do laundry & how old your baby is. Most newborns will go through about 12 diaper changes a day- older babies; 8-10. with most parents washing them 2 or 3 times a week. If you're the kind of parent who does laundry every day, you can save money by buying less & washing often. If you want to do laundry less often, the only way around it is to buy more diapers!

Doublers For added absorbency, especially for bedtime & heavy wetters. These are needed more & more as baby gets older!

Covers If you're using prefolds or fitted diapers, you'll need at least 6 diaper covers. Fleece covers work especially well overnight to stop those tough leaks!

Baby Wipes For baby's sensitive bum, we found that just warm water worked best. Some moms add gentle essential oils to soak them in & keep these in a box near the changing table.

Diaper Pins Only for Prefolds. It's especially important to pin baby's diapers as she gets older!

Diaper Pail Anything with an airtight, pop-up lid works well. You want it to be able to keep in the odor, while still opening easily during diaper changes. We are working on bringing a couple options to our product line.

Diaper Pail Bag Make sure you go with something waterproof & durable enough to make it through many, many washings & with a nice, strong closure.

The Diaper Dilemma

Cloth diapering is easy, inexpensive, earth-friendly, & healthy for baby. We carry only those diapering products that have worked best for us, but if you're still having trouble deciding, hopefully this page will help answer any questions you may have.

First, figure out why you're interested in using cloth diapers & what you're looking for. Then, list these reasons in order of importance. Based on this list, we can help you choose a cloth diapering package that's right for your family.

1. Convenience & Ease: All-in-Ones are the cloth equivalent of a disposable- a real luxury as it requires no pins, folding, or diaper covers.

The next best thing, & my personal favorites, are fitted diapers. Fitted diapers need no pins or folding, but do require covers, & the great thing about them is they usually fit baby for a long time- so you don't have to replace them as often. Our fitted diapers have snap-closures (which we think last longer than velcro).

Growing Greens are available in hemp fleece & come with a snap-in doubler. They fit infants & toddlers from 5-35lbs!! No need to purchase any other diaper ever! 2. Value & Affordability: The most affordable style of diapers are prefolds. You have to fold these to the right size before putting them on your baby, but the great thing about these is that you can get a good, snug fit because you can pin wherever you need to. Other pluses: they're trim & don't always need pinning (particularly with newborns). These need covers.

Our Hemp Prefolds are made from a super absorbent & extra-durable hemp/cotton fleece. These are particularly great for parents who plan on having more children because they are the most affordable! 3. Absorbency: We recommend any of our hemp diapers for ultra-absorbency without as many layers. Hemp is nearly twice as absorbent as cotton, & is also anti-bacterial (which will help prevent diaper rash) & stain-resistant.
